About the Kiwanis Club
Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis members help shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, mentor the disadvantaged, and care for the sick. They develop youth as leaders, build playgrounds, raise funds for pediatric research, and much more. There are more than 260,000 adult Kiwanis volunteers in about 8,000 clubs located in 96 countries, plus over 320,000 youth members who participate in Service Leadership Programs such as K-Kids in grammar schools, Builders Clubs in middle schools, Key Clubs in high schools, and Circle K Clubs in Colleges. There are also Aktion Clubs for adults living with disabilities.
The Holmdel Kiwanis Club serves the Bayshore area of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. They work with many non-profit organizations, holding fundraisers to support them and volunteering with them when needed. Some of these organizations include Jason’s Dreams for Kids, Michael’s Feat, The Rainbow Foundation, The Monmouth County Child Advocacy Program, Project Paul, and many others. Some of the annual events they host include a pasta dinner, a steak bake, a golf outing, and a children’s Christmas party. Membership is open to anyone in the community that is at least 18 years of age and has a passion for helping others through volunteering. Members are asked to attend meetings, usually held on Wednesday nights at a local eatery, and to assist at events.
