Following up on last year’s successful inaugural venture that brought out a crowd of about 300 supporters, Holmdel Township PBA #239 will present their second annual Beer, Food, & Wine Tasting Event next month. Scheduled for Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the Robert B. Meyner Reception Center at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, it promises to be another wonderful evening, sponsored by Wine Sellers of Holmdel.
Along with an assortment of wines, beers, and other quality libations, guests will have the opportunity to sample tasty gourmet dishes from favorite local dining establishments that will include Cold Stone Creamery, Dearborn Market, Drew’s Bayshore Bistro, Huddy’s Inn, It’s Greek to Me, Mahzu Japanese Restaurant, McLoone’s, Merri-Makers Catering & Special Events, Park East Bar & Restaurant, Pete’s Fishery, Red Oak Diner & Lounge, Salerno’s Pizzeria, Sickels Market, Temple Gourmet Chinese, White Olive Catering, and Windansea Restaurant & Bar. Additional food items will be provided by Absolutely Rockin’ Cheesecakes, Delicious Orchards, Epicure Foods, and Manfre Provisions.
Live musical entertainment by the Matt O’Ree Band will further enhance the ambiance of the lovely setting. Guests will also be able to vie for an assortment of beautiful raffle prizes.
At the conclusion of last year’s event, co-chair Patrolman Matthew Menosky had expressed how thrilled he was at the outstanding community response and offered thanks to residents and businesses alike. “The event was a great success for us,” he said. “It was a great advertising opportunity for the businesses who attended, and more importantly, everyone had a great time.” Now at a new and larger venue so as to accommodate even more guests and displays, the 2011 fundraiser is poised to follow through on the plans promised by Ptl. Menosky and co-chair Detective Eric Hernando to make it even bigger and better than before. At press time, Ptl. Menosky noted that he was working on plans to have an ice carver and a comedian join in the evening’s lineup.
Tickets for this festive event are available for just $45 per person, with proceeds going to benefit the activities of Holmdel PBA #239. Chartered since 1973, the organization is very active in the community, raising funds for various area charities, families facing hardships, slain police officers, local schools, and scholarships. Holmdel PBA #239 also sponsors or participates in many other events and fundraisers, including the Special Olympics Torch Run, the PBA Golf Tournament, the PBA Dinner Dance, and an annual fund drive, as well as being a special and dedicated presence at township ceremonies and celebrations throughout the year.
Community residents and businesses are all invited to enjoy this special opportunity to raise their glasses and toast Holmdel’s finest. What better way to spend an evening with friends and neighbors while supporting a good cause?
