After both of the Red Brank Street Fairs planned for 2018 were rained out, Mother Nature turned out to be the best kind of “fair weather friend” on Sunday, April 7, 2019, finally gifting throngs of area residents and visitors with a beautiful day for this year’s first Red Bank Street Fair & Craft Show, hosted by the Red Bank Visitors Center. Thousands of people, smiling as brightly as the sun was shining, packed both Broad and Monmouth Streets. The crowd’s joy at being able to emerge outdoors on a long-awaited lovely spring weekend day was evident as they strolled through the seemingly endless rows of colorful tents that lined both sides of the streets.
Everywhere you looked, busy vendors were offering every conceivable variety of merchandise, clothing, crafts, décor, jewelry, pet supplies, artwork, toys, garden sculptures, and more, showcasing an incredible array of talent and services. All of the town’s shops and eateries were open and business was bustling, with savvy shoppers searching for bargains and then, after working up an appetite, dining at their choice of Red Bank’s great restaurants. For those who preferred to munch as they walked, there was plenty of tantalizing festival food to enjoy, too, with food trucks and tents scattered amid the other vendor displays.
Besides the tempting aroma of food, there was music in the air, as well, with live entertainment by the talented cover band ClearStream and the harmonious male singers of the Red Bank Area Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Kids had plenty of special fun of their own, with games and rides set up to help burn off their boundless energy.
