Ronald McDonald House of Long Branch & New Brunswick, known by many as “The House that Love Built,” will be hosting yet another terrific event this month, as part of the organization’s ongoing 25th anniversary year celebration and to benefit their mission as a “home away from home” for families whose children are undergoing medical treatment. And for those who enjoy a great night out combined with the opportunity to help support a tremendous cause – it’s in the bag!
On Tuesday, August 7, 2012, plan to spend a wonderful evening at the 2nd Annual Handbags for Hope Twilight Cocktail Reception & Handbag Auction at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, NJ. This unique event features the luxury of versatility at a shop-savvy auction, with designer handbags from Prada to Kate Spade. Up-and-coming handbag designers, the Torregrossa Sisters of Middletown, NJ, will be the special guests and are lending tremendous support to the RMH effort. This dynamic duo is taking the fashion industry by storm, and have designed an original, one-of-a-kind RMH commemorative tote just for the event, which will continue to be sold on their website after the fundraiser, as well, in order to continue to build awareness and donations for the charity.
Bridget and Megan Torregrossa, who have been featured in national magazines such as Instyle, Glamour, Marie Claire, Allure WWD, and People Style Watch and who count celebrities Sara Jessica Parker, Kim Catrall, Taylor Swift, Kathy Lee Gifford, Kim Kardashian, and Nicky and Paris Hilton among their clients, will also be donating bags from their new collection for guests to peruse. In addition, once the Torregrossa Facebook page reaches 5,000 followers, the company pledged to make a generous donation to Ronald McDonald House.

About Ronald McDonald House
Ronald McDonald House of Long Branch & New Brunswick is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. They have provided a “home away from home” for thousands of families, whose children are treated at area hospitals. Regardless of their primary residence, the RMH families all share one common thread…their child is ill. RMH families can stay together in comfortable surroundings with a supportive environment during a time of crisis. These homes are run by a local board of trustees, staff, and volunteers and operate through the generous support of area businesses, organizations, civic groups, schools, and individuals, as well as through fundraising and special events.
Additional events are on the calendar for the upcoming months. They include the 3rd Annual Wine Tasting on Friday, September 14 at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, where guests are invited to indulge and discover a variety of fine wines, cheeses, and chocolates. Wine expert Bruce Smith will be on hand to answer questions about wine and food pairings. Then, on Sunday, October 7, get ready to Ride for Ronald McDonald House in Long Branch. This family-friendly bicycle event will include a family ride, touring ride, kids’ bike rodeo, and much more.
