The Woman’s Club of Red Bank – home of “The Reckless Women of Red Bank” – is based in a wonderful old house, formerly known as the Reckless Estate, located at 164 Broad Street in Red Bank, NJ. And the organization, as well as the building that has a place on the National Registry of Historic Places, is undergoing a renaissance. Members are planning exciting events in the weeks and months to come, steps to modernize and streamline the club infrastructure, and improvements to the historic venue.
On February 19, 2020, the club hosted an open house and free vendor shopping event for members and future members, where they were invited to enjoy complimentary wine and cheese while meeting club board members and officers. Membership is ongoing and new members are always welcome – including not only women of all ages and professions from the Red Bank area and beyond, but also men who would like to join “The Reckless Women!”
Throughout the year, the club hosts quarterly educational and social events for members, with the next one planned for Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at 6 pm. Events will include themes such as A Night of Beauty, Steal Bingo, Mindfulness/Yoga, and opportunities for members to highlight their businesses or present other fun and enlightening programs.
Members of The Woman’s Club of Red Bank, together with the club’s Community Partners, also participate in various community service activities such as the Boys & Girls Club Prom Giveaway, the monthly Youth Jazz and Blues Project, the Monmouth County Historical Commission’s annual Weekend in Old Monmouth, Wednesday Senior Cafés, a Mindfulness for Moms series, and much more.
Members also enjoy the privilege of using the historic home up to three times during the calendar year for meetings, programs, or activities of their own, which requires just a modest donation for utilities and use, and is subject to approval by the board for scheduling, topics, and type of event.
As an affiliate of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs, the Woman’s Club of Red Bank also provides networking opportunities and access to hundreds of other women’s club members throughout the state.
During 2020, refurbishment and renovation projects planned for the historic house include replacing the dining room carpet, replacing/repairing the dining room table, and painting the front porch and first floor rooms. Assistance from the community in the form of volunteer services or donations to make the work possible is always appreciated.
All of this and more is available for just $60 to join the Woman’s Club of Red Bank for the 2020 calendar year. Come and be a part of this great organization, make a difference in your community, and become a part of the club’s rich history.
